Soooo, “Is the glass half empty or half full?” is one of those phrases people use to determine your worldview or individual perspective about something. Usually rhetorical but mostly philosophical…but interesting question indeed!
Do you know what your overall worldview is? For instance, are you generally an optimist or pessimist by nature? Do you tend to find the silver lining in less than desiring situations or do you immediately see the world turning to hell? Of course, there isn’t an “always” – no one is always optimistic or pessimistic (if you find one, please let me know!), but a majority of the time, where do you stand?
I am firm believer that our thoughts shape our lives and that our attitude about the things that occur around us changes the outcome or at least changes the way we feel about the outcome. In addition, our overall attitude definitely affects our mental state, physical self and overall well being.
It’s important to check your attitude and change your perspective to a more positive one because our subconscious mind is listening!
What Side Are You On?
So, is the glass half-empty, half-full or something else altogether? The images below are hilarious takes on this age old question. Enjoy!

Really funny….hahaha.
I like to think I am a glass half full kind of girl. Although today someone pointed out I was being very pessimistic about a situation. I may need to rethink the situation.

I used to be a “realist,” but for me that was just putting a pretty word on being a pessimist. Today, I’m an optimist. No room for doubt in my world, I’m trying to accomplish too much!!!

Of course, being real is at the heart of everything we do but I want you to stay over on the optimist side with me
i love the little graphics you have found.
my attitude towards a glass of water changes during the day and during life – up and down and down and up.

Perspective is indeed everything. It’s all about how you look at things. You’re right, no one is always optimistic or pessimistic all the time.. But i really try to see things like there’s something good coming out of it. Enjoyed the images.

I like to think that I’m an optimist but I’m probably more a realist. My fave image was the opportunist – that made me laugh out loud as if we think of these as internal voices, it’s nice to know there’s a part of us that will just get going and not waft about on if it’s really this or that

I am more of a optimist most of the times, but I must say that based from the Points of View you posted here, I am more of a sexist, haha! Let someone else do the water refilling for you

I read a wonderful book recently called Three Feet From Gold.
This same question was posed to the central character… to which he gave a fantastic answer.. “It Depends”
It depends on where it started… was the glass full to start with? In which case it would be half empty. Was the glass empty to start with? Would result that the glass is now half full.
I enjoy the engineer’s perspective on the question… there is too much glass.
Oooh, Keiran, I just read the description of Three Feet from Gold and it looks like a book I need to add to my reading list! Thanks for mentioning it.
