Sometimes people use the terms ‘Geek’ and ‘Nerd’ interchangeably but Masters In IT begs to differ.
There is a huge difference and based on the infographic below, I am a 100% certifiable geek!
Maybe I should change my name to Uncommon Geek Chick…hmmm….

Geeks and nerds never got their props, especially when we were in school back in the day Hajra! Enjoy your nerdness girl!
That was fun and I don’t see myself as either. Some may differ but the overall characteristics, I don’t think I have enough to be swayed either way.
Fun though Kesha!

That’s because you’re in a class (a good one that is) all on your own Adrienne!
Love this infographic! I may be a slight Geek by the favorite movies and some of the traits (not longwinded though) Are you more of a geek Lakesha?

This post is great! Now I can see there is a real difference between geek and nerd. As for me I’m a geek, and I’m proud of it!

If I would have to put myself in a category I would be a geek, with a dash of nerdness. The scary things is I can read a little binary.

I like infographics in general, because a picture says more that a thousand words.

Read binary? Wow, I hated that class in college too. I wish I knew you at the time because you could have aced all my assignments! LOL
That was funny! And you captured it well. I used to be considered kind of a nerd in my early teens because I was never close to being in fashion, and it lasted until I started playing sports. Then in college I was considered more of a geek because I was the guy who got the latest technology and I played piano. I remained the geek for more than 20 years until I had to allow some technology to pass me by because I just couldn’t afford to keep up with it. I’m not sure where people classify me now, and I think I’m happy not knowing. lol

Heeeeey Mitch! Yep, a month later and I’m just responding. Better late than never right?
So let’s see, from that description, you would be a Nerd turned Long Term Geek turned Broke Geek turned Gerd (geek and nerd) LOL
FYI – all credit goes to MasterinIT.org for this awesome infographic. As JanB said above, infographics tell stories way better than words most times so I knew I had to share.
This is hilarious but really enlightening! Thanks for putting these terms in perspective
Hey Joy, all thanks goes to MasterinIT.org. Great job on the infogragphic right?
I certainly enjoyed reading the infographic you shared, it’s a breath of fresh air from the lengthy and wordy posts I came across today
I think that I’m a combination of both! This can probably be classified as the most misunderstood concept, geeks and nerds are two entirely different people. Thanks!
