So today’s post is special. It’s the first in a new monthly series – Ask The Readers!

This segment (inspired by ThinkTraffic) will ask you, the lovely readers of Uncommon Chick, questions in all different areas of life – lifestyle, health, relationships, etc.

Some will be silly, others will be though provoking, but most importantly, the questions will allow us to engage in “online coffee table” discussions. 🙂

So this month I ask you:

If you had the world’s undivided attention, what would you say?

black man and bullhorn
What would you say?

This question was asked by The DailyWhip on Facebook a while back and I thought it very interesting (and some of the comments were hilarious!)

Of course, there are no wrong answers so respond with the very first thing that comes to mind.

I’d love to hear what you guys are thinking so don’t be afraid to chime in!

What say you?

Wassuper, it’s yo girl, Kesha and I believe we should Be the Fruit Loop in a world full of Cheerios because life is more interesting when you dare to be different and challenge what’s “normal!” I am wildly passionate about helping highly driven women pursue fantabulous relationships, juicytastic careers/bizzes, and authentically inspired lives.

Phew! That is a BIG question….so much I would like to say..but if it just one thing…I would say be mindful in all that you do. Which means enjoying the moment, appreciate the small things, don’t take anything or anyone for granted and perhaps, just perhaps people might take more care of how their actions can affect those around them.

    • Yes, it is a BIG question, Delia! It’s crazy how people already know that too but don’t practice it (at least not often it seems). It starts with us though. So let’s be the beacon of light in others’ lives so that they too can follow our lead and do exactly what you’ve said! 🙂

I’d tell the world to Make Love not War. 🙂

    • Ooooh, yes! Now we just have to give you more time on the Mic to tell them HOW to do that properly! 🙂

  • Liz

I would tell the world THANK YOU! Thank you for the memories, the opportunities, the experiences, the people that have made life such an interesting ride. There is so much to learn and discover. Let’s all get out there and enjoy life!

    • Liz, I’m with you! Let’s do it! And it’s cool that you said you give thanks for everything in life because I JUST posted this question asked by my friend Steve Rice on Facebook:

Do you give thanks for your life’s great teachers who are disguised in failed relationships, missed opportunities, and roadblocks along the way?

Let me guess what your answer is. 😉

  • Kesha – yes, what Delia said! LOL! I’ve literally never thought about it! I just blog away about my opinions and people seem to listen in… I guess what I mostly comment about is it’s okay to be you just as you are, and ignore who or what the world thinks you *should* be. And if you don’t know who you are, it’s okay to take time out to figure that out. Full stop 🙂

    • Ahhhh, Sandy, I love it! Since we may not be able to target the whole world with this message, let’s target those around us. If we can get one person at a time, it will be all worth it, you think?

      Thank you oodles for sharing!

  • Wow, that’s a tall order. The whole world’s attention huh! I seriously don’t know. My mind is kind of racing right now with all sorts of thoughts but if I had to address the entire world I better come up with something worth saying.

I’d probably go into lecture mode and say something about stop taking things for granted and stop and smell the roses. We have become an instant gratification society wanting everything yesterday. No one wants to work anymore to know what it likes to achieve something. I think it would have to be directed more toward the up and coming generation because they will be the ones running this thing soon enough.

Girl, you sent my brain in overload. Man, I’d have to give this some serious thought but good question. I like this.

    • A tall order indeed Adrienne! You have stated nothing but the truth when you mentioned that people don’t wanna work anymore. Sheesh, really people?! Too bad we can’t do that for realz!

As I mentioned in response to Sandy, since we can’t get the whole world’s attention, I challenge people to start with THEIR world, hitting one person at a time with our messages and practicing what we preach (which I already know you do boo). 🙂

Hope the brain is out of overload now and back to the wondrous machine it already is. 🙂

  • If I had the entire world’s attention, what I would say is this: Everything we do and don’t do; everything we say and don’t say; everything we believe and don’t believe, MATTERS! We are all connected and even when we think our impact, or lack there of, is irrellevant, we are mistaken. Everything matters so make everything second count!

    • Jeff, please say that again. I don’t think they heard you. 🙂 I’m going to have to raise your platform a bit higher so that they can see you and hear you as you speak these very words!!

      Love your response!

  • Sverre Haugen

    “We’re in this together”

    • Sverre, why do I wanna hold hands and sing this with you right now?! Yes, we ARE in this together and the faster people get this through their thick skulls, the better off the world will be. 🙂

  • Kesha, I would tell the World to stop all these killings. It is sad that the value of life can cost as low as a loaf of bread.

    • OMG, yes, Michael. Something has to give! I mean, sheesh, what the heck has happened to us?!!! I will give you the bullhorn to really shout this into people’s brains or something because it’s just complete nonsense what people are doing to each other. *sad face*

  • That’s a big question. I would tell everyone to respect females. Even after ages of evolution we still fail to give equal rights and respect to females.

  • Take notice at all the people in your life that matter. They won’t be here long and cherish each day with them. When I lost my grandmother years ago, I regretted not spending time to get to know who she really was and it still makes me tear up to this day. She was so lovely and always had a smile on her face. I miss her so much and she was my friend. Thanks Kesha for allowing me to add this to your post.

    • And thank you for sharing your heartfelt thoughts about your grandmother! Your positive life and wonderful nature is surely honoring her. 🙂

  • Nice question. I would say nothing. I will appreciate the attention given by the world 😛 Lol
