I posted this status on my Facebook page last week:
I’ve learned that if you don’t ask, you don’t get.
…and I’m not surprised that some of my peeps chimed in and admitted that the asking part is HARD!
“I’m working on this. Asking is often hard!!!” ~Chasing Joy
“For me asking can be as hard as saying no. I am often saying yes when I should have said no. I often have a hard time asking for things from people…” ~Tarrisha
You’re not alone ladies because I can totally relate!
Over the years I’ve taken cues from my mom. If anybody knows how to ask for something, it’s her!
She’s the one who taught me this lesson and that “closed mouths don’t get fed.” This is the same woman with whom I like to go shopping because she inevitably asks a question (sometimes outrageous questions I wouldn’t have thought to ask or had the balls to ask!) that gets us some free or hugely discounted stuff!
Thank you, Mom, for your wisdom. 🙂
But even still, asking for what we need or want seems to be a big issue.
Why is that?
Why do we find it hard to simply crack our lips and say, “Help?”
Do we consider it a sign of weakness, a form of submission, fear of rejection, etc.?

A Reflection For You
In the meantime, I need you to repeat after me:
“I understand that I can’t do everything by myself and that reaching out to others helps me achieve my goals. I also open myself up to be of service to others as I see fit. In addition, I receive that which I need with open arms, an open mind, and much gratitude! I AM courageous!”
Okay so this should tide you over until the call. 🙂
