As I am about to get out of this St. Louis cold weather and embark upon my last vacation of the year on a cruise with my family members to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman Islands with a 3 day stop in Miami, I realized that I will be without my laptop, an Internet connection, and my phone while on the cruise.
Of course I’m taking my Motorola Xoom tablet to stay connected digitally while in Miami, but as soon as I step on that ship, all connections will be off!
Now if I think I’ll need an Internet connection, Carnival Cruise Lines ever so graciously provides it for us but I doubt I’ll need it. I think I’m going to enjoy not being connected to the digital life for a few days. (I’ll let you guys know how that worked out for me IF I return – LOL)
So in the meantime, enjoy this infographic describing our always connected digital lives and I’m sure you’re going to find yourself somewhere in at least one of these statistics. Enjoy!

Interesting stats Kesha and yep I can find me in at least one of them. Have a wonderful break on the cruise and stay away from technological temptation.

Chris, I found myself in more than one of these stats and it gave me pause for the cause to step back and step away from the digital life sometimes. It’s not going anywhere

Have a wonderful trip, Kesha! We went to Alaska in 2009. I was connected the whole time. That said, I got on and off asap. I can only imagine a trip unconnected. I may have to try it.

Oh my, Cheryl, let me tell you…it was soooo liberating not to be online. At work, I’m online all day and then I go home and am online all evening. It was such a great time not having that feeling that I need to be online so I highly urge you to try it!
What will you do? What will I do without you online? I just want to curl up into a shell! I can’t take this!

Girl, I did enjoy my digital free world while on the cruise. It took me a while to get back to the digital life (as you can see by my late response to last month’s comments) LOL

Hi Kesha,
I am new here. Love your chicky site content and design.
The statistics you put out here are startling. It is hard to believe that we as a people have been transformed to this form of relationships and lifestyle through technology.

One thing that you go on vacation for is to get away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life. If you cannot go on a cruise for 7 days without being worried about checkig your facebook status or emails then why did you book the cruise in the first place? I don’t get that about people. You are going on a cruise to relax, yet you spend most of your time worrying about your personal affairs back at home. Just relax and enjoy the cruise.
Matt, I had a blast on my vacation and didn’t worry about a thing
I simply enjoyed the time spent with family and friends, had time to catch up on reading, and just be in the now with whatever I was doing. I will tell you that after the vacation (11 days), it took me a while to even get back to my computer! LOL As you can see, I’m just now catching up on comments and other items from last year
Thanks for your feedback and hope to see you back soon!
